SPAY & NEUTER KANSAS CITY'S $500,000 CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Capital Campaign Update
We have only $15,000 left to raise to reach our goal! Donate now and help us cross our finish line.

SNKC has been temporarily operating out of a Midtown warehouse courtesy of a generous property owner, but now the warehouse is being redeveloped and we must move. SNKC has secured a new building but it must undergo significant renovation in order to be inhabitable. We need to raise $500,000 to cover the costs of renovating the building and purchasing equipment necessary for our operations.
SNKC’s Capital Campaign will provide funding to remodel the existing 6,400 square foot building. Once remodeled, the new facility will include the following necessities:
- A large lobby for clinic check in,
- Separate cat and dog surgery areas,
- A dog holding area and post and pre surgery areas, and
- Pet Outreach Program community resource center.
We have already raised half of the money for our Capital Campaign. We are now seeking donations from SNKC supporters and the general public to get us to our goal. Construction must begin by October 2008 in order to complete the project and vacate the current facility.
SNKC provides a valuable service to the community and depends on the support of the public to continue its mission. Donations are being accepted and can be mailed in:

Pet overpopulation is a community problem that impacts everyone. It puts an overwhelming burden on local shelters and creates health and safety problems for neighborhoods.
Approximately 12,000 homeless dogs and cats are euthanized in Jackson County alone each year. While adoption is essential, it will not solve the problem of surplus pets. There are simply too many animals and not enough homes. Spaying and neutering is the most effective means of actually solving the problem. It is far more cost-effective to neuter a pet than it is to shelter and adopt out or, sadly, euthanize that animal's litter.
Spay & Neuter Kansas City has proudly served our community of pet owners since 2002. We hope to continue our services to address a problem affecting the entire community: pet overpopulation.
Dear Friend,
As a supporter of Spay & Neuter Kansas City, you are well aware of our mission to reduce pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering pets of low-income owners, rather than euthanizing litters born of those pets at shelters.
You may know that we must vacate our temporary quarters on Main Street this fall. We are excited to have secured a new building at 59th and Troost, but it must be extensively renovated before we can occupy it.
We are pleased to announce that we have received a Challenge Grant of $50,000 towards our renovation costs, provided we raise $50,000 in public donations. Please read the Capital Campaign 2008 announcement above and the “SNKC News,” which contain a great deal of information about our organization.
You have helped us in the past. We hope you will help us again now, at this most critical time. Your tax-deductible donation to our Capital Campaign will help us receive our Challenge Grant and make the move to our permanent home. Having a long-term facility will enable Spay & Neuter Kansas City to continue its important work of preventing the birth of thousands of puppies and kittens that would most likely have to be euthanized at shelters.
Thank you for your support.
