RABIES VACCINATIONS & LICENSING IN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI Kansas City Missouri ordinance Chapter 14-20 requires that all residents license their dog, cat or ferret. Having your pet spayed or neutered will lower your cost for their license. The license fee is $10 (Plus $2.00 administrative fee) for a spayed or neutered animal and $33 for unaltered animals. Pet license fees help fund animal control activities in Kansas City and support shelter operations.
To license your pet, you must provide proof of a current rabies vaccination. Pet licenses can be purchased at Kansas City Animal Health and Public Safety, 4400 Raytown Road, through some local veterinarians or online.
Licensing your animal, and keeping the license on your animal's collar, insures that you will be notified if Animal Health and Public Safety impounds your animal. In addition, any city resident who finds a lost animal can contact Animal Health and Public Safety at (816) 513-9800 and get the owner's information so they can return the animal to its rightful owner. In other words, if someone in your neighborhood finds your pet they can contact Kansas City Animal Health and Public Safety, or check www.petdata.com/cs/kcm , and obtain your name and address and return your pet to you.
