Cari Pemberton

SNKC Advisory Council Member

Walk Manager at the Alzheimer’s Association

Cari is a Kansan by choice, having moved to KC from Colorado in 2014 to be near her mother. Both sides of Cari’s family have been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia. This journey inspired Cari to volunteer as a planning committee member for the KC Walk to End Alzheimer’s in 2018. She joined the Alzheimer’s Association staff in 2019 to manage the St. Joseph and Liberty Walks.

Cari and her husband Rod are active in the pet adoption community and have a rescue dog named Gunner and a senior pound kitty, Rowdy, who rules the roost. Rod and Cari are also the proud parents of Bethany and Erin. In addition to watching movies with her family, Cari loves reading with a warm four-legged friend nearby.

Cari brings knowledge of fundraising and volunteer management to SNKC from her experiences as a multi-state development manager for Mercy Ships (the world’s largest non-governmental hospital ship) and as Deputy Grassroots Director for Patriot Voices. A Colorado Christian University graduate, she also managed her own home organizing and coaching business, The Clutter Cutters, for more than 21 years. As an adoptee, Cari became a team leader for the Fostering Hope Foundation to provide support to foster parents through her church. Cari is excited to take a more active role as an animal advocate with SNKC.
