Ever since I can remember I’ve had an overwhelming love for animals. My mom being a single mom for most of my life, since my dad passed away when I was age 5, it was hard for her to say no to me. I would bring home any and every stray animal I found. She always says “If your dad could have brought home every stray animal he would have” Well, I’m no different.
We ended up with dogs, cats, mice, bunnies, chickens, and even a goat! Yes, a goat. I talked her into letting us keep a baby goat. We lived in a small town but our back yard was huge, so she said yes! We named him ‘Oreo’ you can imagine what colors he was. Oreo was the sweetest thing, he would run around our backyard with the dogs and chickens. (He really thought he was a dog.) Everyone at my school thought I was crazy, but I felt like the coolest chick ever with the cutest baby goat.
Being around animals my entire life has made my love for them exceptionally strong. Something about their sweet, innocent faces and their wagging tails really gets me every time. I realized at a very young age animals have no voice. We as humans are responsible for the care of animals. WE are their voice. This is why I will work with animals for the rest of my life. This is my passion.
