Born and raised in Sacramento, CA, I grew up on a hobby farm and was always involved with animals. I was a high school agriculture teacher before going to veterinary school, but quickly learned that animals were what I wanted to handle. I received my veterinary degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA in 2013 and received my Masters in Public Health in 2017 from University of Minnesota-St. Paul; throughout this time, I was involved in many animal rescue and TNR organizations, helping whenever and wherever I could. Being involved in many different organizations included experience with all kinds of animals, including large and small, furry and scaly.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time at home with my husband and toddler son with our menagerie of animals that includes dogs, cats, snakes and a turtle.
